Drifters at the MBA…

I have been going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium since it opened in 1984 and never tire of the fantastic exhibits that show what life is like under the ocean off the California coast. The “Drifters Gallery” just re-opened July 2, 2011 after a makeover. This is my favorite spot to take photographs at the aquarium. Key is not using a flash and shooting with a DSLR camera that has clean high ISO settings. Also it is a good idea to experiment with exposure compensation to get good silhouettes of the people in the foreground and rich deep colors of the jellies and water. All images were shot with 1D Mark IV, 15mm Fish Eye 1/80th sec, f/2.8.
